project overview
Something Blue is an experimental lifestyle branding project that explores the visual potential of AI-generated imagery through the dynamic variation of logotypes and visuals. Framed by the phrase “A memorial for the things you won’t remember,” the project investigates the cultural symbolism of the color blue, blending surreal, dreamlike aesthetics with typographic form.
Within this visual system, error codes serve as a key design element to archive these fabricated memories. Based on the idea that a perfect blueprint is ultimately a miscalculation, these codes mark the precise moments where the algorithm's pursuit of an ideal image slips into an anomaly. By labeling non-existent moments, such as a sunset on February 30th, the design creates a logical system for the glitch between reality and hallucination.
These images evoke a sense of déjà vu; they feel strikingly familiar yet remain entirely unseen and strange. The project questions the boundary between artificial and human-made visuals, reflecting on perception and the uncanny appeal of AI in design. Ultimately, it conducts a multifaceted examination of how these dreamlike, generative visuals can be integrated into and resonate within our daily lifestyles.
